Tuesday, September 6th: Kick Off Day!
Today there will be a toiletry drive for the Hope Food Pantry and the Libertyville Township Food Pantry. Both of these organizations provide food and supplies to those in need. Instead of food donations they have asked for toiletries.
They have asked for: toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, bar soap, dish soap (small containers), paper towels, and toilet paper.
Wednesday, September 7th: Reading and Writing for Gold Day!
This will be a sock, new underwear for children and women, and gently used clothing for women (all sizes) donation for the Lake County Haven.
The mission of the Lake County Haven is to empower homeless women and their children to achieve permanent, independent living. Founded in 1992, the Haven fulfills its mission by providing shelter, housing, and professional services in support of its residents and graduates.
Thursday, September 8th: Teaming up for Our Furry Friends Day!
Today there will be a donation drive for the organization: Reach Rescue in Mundelein. REACH Rescue Inc. rescues dogs and cats that are stray, abandoned, relinquished, abused, neglected, or have run out of time at public shelters and scheduled to be euthanized as a result of overpopulation. REACH attempts at all times to bring animals and their people together. We will be collecting Dog toys, Dry Grain free dog food, Dry Puppy food, Canned dog food/puppy food, Paper towels, Gift cards to pet supply stores, Gas cards for transports, Small dog collars-for puppies,
Plain 2 pocket folders for adoption papers.
Friday, September 9th: Sport your School Spirit Day!
Today as the students wear their school spirit we are asking for school supplies for the Beacon Place.
Beacon Place is a not for profit which has programs that were developed to bring about a change in life direction for families and their communities. They strive to feed, educate, activate, train and empower children and families through food and technology resources.
They have a very close relationship with Carman Buckner School, located across the street from Beacon Place and are able to assist this school with school supplies during the school year.
The needed school supplies are:
3-ring Binders, any size, # 2 Pencils, red and black pens, colored pencils, colored markers, crayons (36 count), two-pocket folders, spiral notebooks, Kleenex, Pencil boxes, Clorox wipes, antibacterial hand soap.
